George "Buzzy" Fakier, Jr. died of Kidney Renal Cell Cancer on March 8, 1979. Buzzy’s cancer was caught in its last stages when the cancer had damaged much of his body. The Renal Cell Cancer grew quickly and devastatingly during the last year and a half of his life. Today Renal Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States. Awareness and research are helping more people survive cancer each year. Early detection is essential for the survival of those affected by cancer of the kidneys.
